ABOUT HPCF

Improving conditions for children through clear, practical work

Our story

Why this work began

A personal commitment shaped by Peru, responsibility, and practical care

In 2011, Harry Perez began this work as a private response to the conditions many children in Peru face in everyday life. The purpose was never public attention for its own sake. It was to help in ways that were respectful, useful, and closely tied to real needs, with support directed where it could matter in practical terms.

  • Practical care, close to daily life

The work stays close to the conditions that shape childhood most directly, including health, safety, shelter, care, and practical support.

  • Projects with a clear purpose

Support is directed to work that can be clearly understood, responsibly defined, and put to real use in the place it is meant to serve.

  • Private support, steady direction

The work is funded privately by the founder, which keeps decisions, scope, and responsibility consistent over time.

  • A clear record of the work

Project records, updates, and annual reporting help preserve clarity, continuity, and accountability across the years.

Our Role
A selective direct-delivery foundation

The foundation exists to turn private resources into practical support for children in Peru. Rather than broad public campaigns, the work centers on defined projects, careful review, and responsible delivery.

Our Funding
Private funding with a clear line of responsibility

Because the work is privately funded, approvals, scope, and resource direction remain consistent from review through delivery.

How we work
From visible need to practical use

Each project begins with conditions that can be observed and understood in context. Need, feasibility, likely use, and local input help shape decisions so support can be delivered in a form that is useful and responsible.

Where the work takes shape

Four settings help keep the work close to real conditions

The work is organized around settings where children’s needs can be seen clearly and where support can be delivered in practical ways, with attention to daily life, local context, and likely use.

  • Hospital and Medical Support

  • Child Shelter and Direct Care

  • Community Food and Kitchen Infrastructure

  • Local Response to Emerging Needs

Founder-led with clear direction

Continuity, judgment, and responsibility remain at the center

The foundation is led through a structure that keeps decision-making close to purpose. Projects are chosen carefully, scope is kept clear, and direction stays tied to the conditions the work is meant to address. This helps preserve continuity over time without losing sight of the people and places behind each decision.

Harry Perez

Founder

Harry Perez founded the foundation in 2011 as a private and long-term commitment to children in Peru. The work grew from a simple belief: support should be thoughtful, respectful, and useful in the places where children live, heal, learn, and seek safety. Shaped by a personal connection to Peru and a steady sense of responsibility, he chose to direct private resources toward work that could be clearly defined and carried out with care. His role is to keep that purpose steady over time by deciding where support can matter most, maintaining clarity in method, and helping ensure that each project remains practical, responsible, and connected to the communities it is meant to serve.
